Council supports DAC funding recommendation of QSA

With unanimous recommendation on Dec 3 from the City of Niagara Falls Downtown Advisory Committee, and unanimous approval by city council on Jan 20, Niagara Falls QSA will be fully funded in 2026 to engage in marketing and community building. This will include digital innovation and emerging technologies projects on behalf of the official platforms of Downtown Niagara Falls, and we will be able to do new and exciting things in the Queen Street area!

Thank you to the committee for your trust and support. With this funding, we are able to provide “many hands [that] make for light work” and build promotional platforms that are “a rising tide that raises all ships.”

The 2026 budget of $60,000 was praised as good value for a marketing project by University of Niagara Falls Canada president Dr. Gray and City of Niagara Falls Mayor Diodati. The need for continued marketing, particularly in social media, was recognized by members of the committee. The motion to support the budget was made by Tony Barranca and seconded by Cat Thagard.

The recommendation was unanimously supported by city council on Jan 20, 2026. For more information, please see the staff report.
